## How do Xray item types compare with Ketryx item types?

Xray item types can be used instead of Ketryx Test Case and Ketryx Test Execution types.

For mapping Xray items to Ketryx, the integration works as follows:

- Xray Test Plans are associated with versions using Jira's _**Fix versions**_ field
- Xray Test Plans contain Test Executions and/or Test Cases
- Test Executions are composed of test runs that execute specific Xray Tests or Xray Test Plans
- Xray Tests can be linked to tested items through Jira's native **tests** link

Most, but not all, of the Xray fields can be pulled into Ketryx documentation via document templating. In general, Xray custom fields are not available, but other fields are (like Steps, Results, Comment, etc). If there is desire to track the test environment, you can use Xray's "Test Environments" field, which will work in the same way as the Ketryx Test Execution "Test environments" field, which has special properties in Ketryx.
