# How can I filter and manage risks of different types?

> **In short:** Risks can be viewed in Ketryx on the All items screen, Traceability module, and Risks module.

Risks can be viewed in Ketryx on the All items screen, Traceability module, and Risks module. When managing risks in the Risk module, there are several options for filtering and managing risks of different types, including:

- If you use [Hazard types,](https://docs.ketryx.com/reference/advanced-settings#hazard-types) you can filter for a specific hazard or hazard type using [Ketryx Query Language (KQL)](https://docs.ketryx.com/reference/ketryx-query-language) in the search bar (e.g "Hazard type":"Security/Cyber")
- If you configure a list of [Hazards](https://docs.ketryx.com/reference/advanced-settings#hazards) in the advanced settings, you can use the grouping functionality at the top left of the table or the KQL search bar to filter.
- If you configure a list of [Harms](https://docs.ketryx.com/reference/advanced-settings#harms) in the advanced settings, you can use the grouping functionality at the top left of the table or the KQL search bar to filter.

Note: [Ketryx Query Language (KQL)](https://docs.ketryx.com/reference/ketryx-query-language) can be used to filter by any parameter set in risk configuration.

Additionally, to streamline your workflow, you can define [**custom KQL filters**](https://docs.ketryx.com/reference/advanced-settings#custom-kql-filters) in the **Advanced Settings**. These filters allow you to predefine and label specific queries that will be available on key screens, including the Risk Management module.

To create custom filters:

1. Navigate to **Advanced Settings** in your Ketryx project or organization.

2. Find the **Custom KQL filters** section.

3. Add filters in JSON format, each with:
   - A unique `name`

   - A `kqlFilter` containing your query

   - An optional `screens` list to specify where the filter should appear

   - If the `screens` field is omitted, the filter will appear across all modules. Custom KQL filters are especially useful for teams managing large numbers of risks with consistent search patterns.

Beyond using the KQL search bar directly and advanced setting, you can also query for risks using the **AI Assistant** built into Ketryx. This tool allows you to type natural language requests, and it will automatically apply the corresponding KQL filters for you.

To use it:

1. Click on the **Assistant** button in the top right corner of your screen.

2. Type a prompt like:

**“Help me query RISK that has a hazard type of Diagnostic information”**

3. The Assistant will interpret your request and apply the equivalent KQL:

`RISK and "Hazard type":"Diagnostic information"
`

The filtered results will automatically display in the current view.

This is a convenient way to explore or troubleshoot without needing to memorize exact KQL syntax.
